Sedek Mohamed Ali appointed new deputy IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) director Comm Datuk Mohd Sedek Mohd Ali was appointed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tuesday.
The post was left vacant after Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Omar was made Inspector-General of Police, replacing Tan Sri Norian Mai, who retired in November last year.
Comm Mohd Sedek, who will turn 55 on Jan 31, was promoted to Commissioner of Police and took over as the KDNKA director in July 2002.
He was born in Alor Gajah Malacca. He joined the force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent in 1973.
Among the posts he has held were: Federal Narcotics director, Federal deputy CID director, Perak chief police officer, Federal CID assistant director, Federal Welfare team, and Seremban OCPD.
