JOHOR BARU: Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has confirmed that he will meet the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) on Wednesday to give a statement on the ongoing taxi permit controversy that saw a war of words between him and the agency.
Nazri said the meeting was arranged between his office and the Federal Territory ACA last Thursday.
“Chuah (Chang Man, director of Federal Territory ACA) and I believe another officer will be coming to my office at 2.30pm as planned.
“I will be giving my statement alone. This is not my first time (giving a statement to ACA) and I don’t need anyone to be with me. Furthermore, statements given to agencies like ACA is confidential,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after attending a Hari Raya gathering organised by the Johor-Singapore Taxi Operators’ Association yesterday.
Nazri also stressed that he was not being emotional or over-reacting to the statement by ACA investigations chief Datuk Nordin Ismail saying that he had to defend himself after Nordin had made a public stand on him.
Why do we make public stands? I do it for the benefit of all especially myself.
In an era of endless technological advantage, it is important to aproach social and rural development from a correct standpoint.
I believe our Minister of Developement is great.
